Create an issue from a Teams message

Somebody describes a problem in your shared Teams channel — an error, a screenshot, a question that clearly needs tracking. You can turn that message into a Portal issue without leaving Teams, and without retyping anything.

How

1. Hover the message → ⋯ More options → More actions → Create support issue.
2. A dialog opens showing the message you're converting at the top — text and a note when its pictures will travel along.
3. The description and title arrive already written: the same AI that powers the portal's Improve button drafts a report from the message while the dialog opens. Edit anything, or press Undo for a blank form.
4. Pick the App, adjust Type / Priority / BC version if you like, and press Create issue.

The thread gets a card back — Raised as issue #123, with Open in the portal — so the next person reading the conversation knows it's tracked and doesn't raise it twice.

What travels

• The message text, quoted on the issue, with a link back to the conversation.
• Pictures on the message (up to three) — attached to the issue automatically. The dialog tells you beforehand: "2 pictures on this message will be attached to the issue."
• Your own additions: anything you type, and screenshots you paste into the dialog.

Whose issue is it?

Anyone in the channel may convert anyone's message. The issue belongs to the organisation that owns the channel, and the reporter is the person whose words are quoted — the message's author — while whoever pressed the button is recorded separately. The dialog states the consequence before you press anything: everyone at your organisation can read this issue, including the quoted message and its pictures.

When it says no

The dialog refuses in plain words rather than failing silently:

This channel belongs to another organisation	Neither you nor the author is a member there — there is nowhere to file it where they could read it
That message has nothing to convert	Pick a message with words or a picture in it
Teams did not say who you are	Sign out of Teams and back in
The portal is not connected to Teams yet	Ours to fix — the same log that shows you this has already told us

Pictures in one-to-one chats

The message action works in channels. In private chats, paste the screenshot into the dialog instead — it attaches exactly the same way.
